
This month we are pleased to present Bill Hoffman for our Spotlight Feature. Bill has spent his life in the farmlands of Nebraska, except while he was proudly serving our country in the United States Army. Bill is a proud grandfather, husband and father. Bill is a driven, accomplished professional who even returned to college as an adult determined to further his education! Please enjoy reading more about Bill in this month's Contractor Spotlight.
How did you get involved with DCI?
Jill Duckett, a Sales and Operations Manager with Direct Contact contacted me, prior to that conversation I had never heard of DCI before!
Tell us about your background:
I was born and raised on a grain and livestock farm in York County, Nebraska. I spent 3 years in the US Army and then returned to our farm where I stayed and worked on the farm until 1988. In 1988, I went back to school and graduated with AAS degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. After I graduated, I worked as a Regional Sales Manager for a local manufacturer until company restructuring forced me to leave. Since that time, I have been an Independent Sales Associate for a national seed company.
What is the best thing about being a DCI Contractor?
I have to say the best thing about working for DCI has to be working with the DCI personnel and meeting producers outside my normal area.
Tell us about your home and family.
My wife Margie and I live in York, Nebraska. We have three adult children and six grandchildren with number seven on the way!
When you are working, what are you driving?
A Honda Oddessy most of the time.
What was your first job with DCI?
My first role with DCI was in 2017 on a Product Stewardship and Technical Assistance project.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy hunting, fishing, spending time with grandkids, and I raise a big pumpkin patch!
What do you do the first hour of the morning?
Drink coffee and check my email
What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is that I returned to school to further my education.
What are you ordering for your favorite meal?
Desserts!
What are your favorite sports teams?
Has to be any team my grandchildren are playing on and the Huskers!
What is the happiest memory of your life?
The day my first child was born.

My favorite pet was my Black Lab named Eve.

What 3 people (living or not) would you invite to a dinner party?
President Reagan, Winston Churchill, and Jesus - maybe not in that order.
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Desserts!
What historical figure do you admire most?
Any soldier that landed on the beaches on D-Day.
What is something most people do not know about you?
I was a veterinary technician in the US Army.
Where in the world are you dying to visit?
South America or Calgary Stampede
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Live your life with rigorous honesty.
