Sean Baragary - October 2018
This month we are pleased to feature Sean Baragary of Winthrop, Iowa. Sean joined the DCI Team in 2017. Sean has always placed a priority on being involved in his community including his local 4H, FFA, and Little League clubs. Sean is a past President of the Buchanan County Pork Producers and has also been active with the Iowa Soybean Association and Iowa Farm Bureau.
How did you get involved with DCI?
I was contacted by a friend about work with DCI and took the opportunity.
What is your background?
I am a self-employed farmer.
What is the best thing about being a DCI contractor?
The best thing about being a contractor is the flexible schedule.
What would you like to share about your home and family life?
My wife and I have 1 son named Marshall. We reside in Winthrop, Iowa.
What was your first job?
My first job was on the farm, other than farm work my first job was mowing yards in town.
What do you do the first hour of the morning?
It certainly depends on the day of the week to say what I will be doing the first hour, you never know what I'll be doing. I will be doing something for certain!
What are your hobbies and interests?
My hobbies are golf and grilling. I'm a lot better at grilling than golf!
What is your greatest achievement?
I was honored with The Master Pork Producer Award from The Iowa Pork Producers Association.
What are you ordering for your favorite meal?
Meat! Beef or pork!
What is your favorite sports team and music group?
Iowa State and the Green Bay Packers. My favorite music is with no doubt King George Strait!
What is the happiest memory of your life?
The day Marshall was born!
Tell us about your favorite pet:
We have a cat, but I wouldn't consider him a favorite.
Who would you enjoy inviting to a dinner party?
George Strait for sure!
Who did you see at the first concert you attended?
I believe it was Kenny Chesney.
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Where in the world are you dying to visit?
I am dying to visit Ireland- but just can't sit on a plane that long.
